Way back in October, (or was it yesterday, it certainly feels like it,) I started a Christmas Crochet Along with Deramores. The patterns were for two baubles, placemats and coasters, a Christmas cushion and a Christmas stocking.
In my Catch up post at the beginning of December I showed you my baubles that I’d made. I’d also made the coasters and table mats but hadn’t done the lettering on them. I still haven’t done that. I did get sidelined with a Santa jacket for the new baby in the family, my great nephew.
Christmas Cushion.
Today, I finished the Christmas cushion. It looks nice but it is actually too big for my cushion pad. Actually, the baubles were pretty big as well so I think maybe I need to work on my tension, or making my stitches tighter and smaller. Or I could use a smaller hook? I’m not sure but I do know that it’s something I need to sort out. It’s fine for blankets and scarfs, but it makes it more difficult for smaller pieces. And of course, I would like to make sure I get my clothing sizes right. (the first jumper I made myself is pretty huge!)
Anyway, enough of the waffle, here is my Christmas Cushion, puffed up so you can’t properly see that its too big for the cushion pad.
I also managed to get some of the squares sewn up wrong so the holly is supposed to be in the four corners and the middle. Ah well, it’s a learning curve. There is always next time to get it right.
Wishing all my readers a very Merry Christmas!
That looks really pretty! Well done you!
Have a fab Christmas x
