A Place to Eat

Weekly Meal Plan – What’s on the Menu

Sometimes I could scream, planning a menu that pleases everyone is such a difficult task. Not only that, with so many people in the house it’s hard to find a single day when they want to eat what I’ve planned even though it’s generally something they like.

I get told that they are fed up of the meals on the menu, but then when I add something new they don’t want to try it. Each week I try and do my best by shopping carefully and working out a budget, then it all gets blown on take outs. I’m seriously fed up of food. In fact I’ve not been eating much myself, not that I think anyone else has noticed they are too busy arguing with me about what they have to eat.

Anyway, less moaning please, lets get on with this weeks menu and see how we do.

  • Saturday – Take Out…more about that below
  • Sunday – pie and mash
  • Monday – paella because we didn’t have it last week, or Pizza if they don’t want it again.
  • TuesdayThai lamb chops and coriander salad
  • Wednesday – Pasta bake
  • Thursday – pizza
  • Friday – fish or chicken and chips

I’ve had my chips

First of all, I didn’t want a take out on Saturday, we had plenty to eat in the fridge and the freezer. But, I wasn’t feeling too good and eldest daughter didn’t want anything I had to offer. She wanted KFC. I hate getting KFC because no matter how much I buy it always causes arguments of who’s eaten all the boneless or you’ve had enough leave some for everyone else. So, I agreed so long as it was just her and her sister and everyone else could have a take out from our favourite chip shop. I had this brilliant idea, our chip shop delivers, so husband and the girls went to KFC and I ordered our chips to be delivered…..2 flippin hours it took them. I phoned up twice. I even said my hubby would come and collect the order but apparently it was on it’s way already. I use them all the time and there is no excuse for an order to take 2 hours so I’ve put in a complaint and I won’t be using them again. Time to find a new chippie.

Just to add to my misery this week, my deep fat fryer decided it wasn’t going to heat up anymore. We have an air fryer, but guess what, only half the family like chips in there. The others will have oven chips, but not husband, last Thursday saw him cooking his chips in a wok full of hot fat.

Sorry for beign a moaning minnie this week. I’m sure this week is going to go perfectly well.

*crying inside*

  1. My youngest has started to be fussy saying she doesn’t like things she’s liked and eaten for years. I’ve said eat or go hungry and it seems to be working so far. It may seem harsh but she’s just pushing her luck. It is frustrating when meal times become a battleground.
Great meal plan. Good luck with it!
It does sound like you need to find a new chippy. It’s so annoying when they take so long to deliver!
    Sending hugs x
