The Blurb

One house. One husband. Two women. Someone is lying.

Eden Fox, an artist on the brink of her big break, sets off for a run before her first exhibition. When she returns to the home she recently moved into, Spyglass, an enchanting old house in Hope Falls, nothing is as it should be. Her key doesn’t fit. A woman, eerily similar to her, answers the door. And her husband insists that the stranger is his wife.

My Husband’s Wife is a tangled web of deception, obsession and mystery that will keep you guessing until the last page. Prepare yourself for the ultimate mind-bending marriage thriller and step inside Spyglass – if you dare – to experience a story where nothing is as it seems.

My Review of My Husband’s Wife

Where do I begin? It started strange, a woman out for a run in a new Cornish town where she had just moved with her husband, comes home and finds another woman pretending to be her, or is she?

Then we jump to a completely different woman living in London and just finding out she’s got cancer, and just to add to the confusion, her story is 6 months earlier!

This is how the book continues, complex confusing story line one after the other. It’s really hard to figure out what is happening, but it’s completely compelling to carry on reading to find out.

The twists keep coming right up until the end.

I have to admit, I was addicted and had to keep listening. I decided to get this book on audio and it didn’t disappoint with three different voice actors making it come alive. The little special effects where good too, but I’m glad they were infrequent.

The story was tied up nicely at the end, and luckily, despite the confusion, it wasn’t too long drawn out. I did have to go back and double check on a couple of things that I thought didn’t make sense, but they worked out, you just have to really pay attention to this book.

If you like complex stories, that have lots of twists and turns, suspense, mystery and a little violence too, then this book is a must read. The reviews are mixed but there is a lot of hype which has made the book really popular. Although, I agree that it stretches credibility, at least it has an explanation for everything that happens or has happened in the past.

I have to add, it’s quite sweary and has a few added descriptive adult scenes.

I wouldn’t choose this as my first Alice Feeney to read though.,

  2. I haven’t read any Alice Feeney books, so perhaps I shouldn’t start with this one. But I do love a complex story with lots of twists and turns! This one sounds intriguing.

  3. Sounds complex and interesting. I bet having the different voices really helps to follow the audio book. I haven’t read any Alice Feeny though, so I’ll take your advice and not start with this one! Happy Reading!
